Match editing member photos

Matchcrop

I don’t know how long this has been going on but when I updated my photos on Match this week I was presented with a pop-up stating my primary photo would be cropped to better show my face. I just spent 10 minutes tweaking the photo in a $700 photo editor, why are they altering my photo? The original showed my head and shoulders, and was taken in the Nokia hot air balloon overlooking Stockholm. I receive a lot of comments on the photo, and now the context of my worldly lifestyle is lost and I’m left with a boring mug shot. Was that a decision from the marketing department or engineering?

I feel sorry about you, but as we noticed this Match.com not only edits somebody’s photos but also discriminates against some nationalities. For example, don’t you know they banned all russians IP,and all profiles of russian women aren’t published there
also we have noticed this dating business is very wild especially concerning “russian brides”. Seems russian women for most of owners dating site are only flesh for sell and nothing else.
Now the LillaVilla dating magazine with Antidate forum start voting for the WORST dating site 2005
During this year as we were running our sites we heard permanently the complaints of Russian women about the awful services and total disregarding any complaints on such dating sites.
So now we want to know exactly how does the targeting audience estimate the services of those dating in fact, and administration of which sites doesn’t care about women at all.

That is why we chose 10 sites which were complained many time by russian women. All of them have the most largest number of the russian brides and are boosting their services most aggressively among the Russian audience (with sending spam, for example).

It certainly isn’t the best of behaviour for personals sites to automatically edit a users photo. While not all users have the expertise to edit their photos to their full preference, I’m sure most anyone with a scanner has learnt the art of cropping. Given that, editing should only be done with permission or when the case is extreme (such as when people with a tiny photo and a lot of white space where they haven’t used their scanners cropping tool).
